Admission Process

   Those who graduate from high school or have a corresponding degree and want to learn Korean and Korean culture.

▣ How to apply

    Visit the administrative office of the Korean Language and Culture Education Center for admission applications and submission documents, mail or e-mail reception

▣ Application documents

 ◎ Basic documents (Students who do not need a D-4 visa)
     1. Application for admission (download and fill out forms from form & download bulletin board)
     2. A copy of the final education certificate or enrollment certificate
     3. Copy of passport or alien registration card
     4. One proof photo (3.5x4.5 size, white background)

 ◎ Documents for requiring a D-4 visa
      1. Basic documents (see above)
      2. The original copy of the final academic record and transcript
          - Apostille or local consular confirmation
      3. Original copy of the bank statement in your name (over KRW 8,000,000) 
          - Ministry of Justice guidelines change from the base US dollar to the Won, lowering the amount (2023.07)
          - Issued within 30 days from the date of application.
          - In the case of a bank balance certificate in the name of parents, the original copy of the family relationship certificate must be submitted.
          - In the case of a bank balance certificate under the name of the spouse, the original marriage certificate must be submitted.
      4. Original Family Relations Certificate, Identification cards of parents and students (Excluding EU, US, Japan and Taiwanese nationals)
          - If not in English, the English translation must also be notarized
      5. Original proof of employment and income of the applicant or parents (except for EU, US, Japanese and Taiwanese nationals)
      6. Korean identity guarantee (Citizens from 21 countries and 5 key management countries notified by the Minister of Justice)
          - Korean nationals over the age of 20 who live and work in Korea.
          - Include the original certificate of employment or a copy of the business registration certificate in the case of a business operator.

      2、您名下的银行对账单原件(800万韩元以上
          - 自申请之日起 30 天内签发。
          - 如果是父母名下的银行存款证明,请提交父母的3个月收入证明(公证)、就业证明(公证)和家庭关系证明(公证)。
      3、户口本复印件
          - 必须列出学生和家长。
          - 学生与家长不在同一户口簿的,需另外提交亲属关系证明原件。
      4. 居民身份证复印件

   ※ Documents written in languages other than Korean and English must be submitted with an English or Korean translation and a translator's confirmation. 
   ※ Original documents mean original or notarized copies issued by banks, government offices, etc., and copies are not recognized.
   ※ Citizens from 21 countries and 5 key management countries notified by the Minister of Justice can request additional documents.

▣ Tuition fee

  ◎ Screening fee: KRW 50,000
     - The document review will proceed only when the screening fee is paid.
 
  ◎ Tuition fee: KRW 1,300,000 (1 semester)
     - Textbook fee is not included (about 23,000 won to 35,000 won depending on the grade) 
     - Various bank fees incurred during remittance are borne by students.

  ◎ Insurance premium: KRW 80,000 (6 months)
     - D-4 visa students are required to have school insurance. International students are naturally subscribed to the National Health Insurance after six months of stay.
     - Freshmen who do not have school insurance must submit an individual insurance certificate. (Korean or English, if you have national health insurance, submit a 건강보험 자격득실확인서.)
     - Additional amounts may be incurred for students aged 34 or older. If there is an additional amount, it will be settled after admission.

▣ Postponement and Refund

  ◎ Postponement
    - If you cannot participate in the training due to personal reasons after completing the registration process, you can postpone the semester only once if you submit the reason for the postponement until one week after the start of the semester.
    - If you do not participate in the training during the postponed semester, your registration will be canceled and your tuition will not be refunded.
 
  ◎ Refund
     - If you can no longer participate due to personal reasons during the training, you can cancel the registration.
     - If you cancel, you must submit a copy of the course waiver, a copy of your bankbook, proof of departure, or proof of enrollment.
     - In case of cancellation, the tuition fee will be refunded within 4 weeks of the application date in accordance with the refund regulations.

▣ Etc.

     - According to the Ministry of Justice's guidelines for international students, a standard admission permit for issuing a D-4 visa can be issued only after paying a tuition fee (6 months) for the second semester.
     - Students should apply for a visa at the Korean Consulate in their home country.
     - The documents required for visa issuance and the time required for visa issuance vary from country to country, so please check with the consulate in advance.
     - You are responsible for issuing a visa and delaying your personal schedule due to failure to comply with the schedule.
